lithuanian sound art
June 26th, 2004, Lithuanian multimedia artists Arturas Bumsteinas, Laura Garbstiene and composer Antanas Jasenka were presenting their work at Tallinn Art Hall (KU).
For the special occasion KU was opened for inviting some intrigued crowd to check out how does Lithuanian experimentalism sound like. Parallely the exposition of two contemporary Lithuanian artists, named “In its own juice” was opened for visitors (curated by Anders Härm and Hanno Soans).
with the words of mr. Bumsteinas:
"What i do with sound is devoted to techniques such as sound collage, different kinds of deconstruction, microdimension composition and also writing for acoustic instruments. I work in visual medias with Laura Garbstiene. We formed G-Lab duo two years ago. Antanas Jasenka is composer/performer with very good bio of international releases. He’s more close to Austrian electroacoustic aesthetics. (check out Jasenkas home label electroshock.ru) What we’d like to do could be closer not to narrative presentation, but to audiovisual performance within the aesthetics of noise/field recordings and some video images. So, a concert, or extended performance.. how to say."
